Engraved Chainmail

Engraved and riveted chainmail inspired by Arabic designs from around the XV century.

The mail was made procedurally and fully in Substance Designer, the backing leather is a modified adobe asset.

some references I used for the riveting, wrought iron splits, inscription and overall surface finish

Initial setup of 2 types of rings (inscribed and plain) and tiling/blending into the mail. The simple setup allows for easy parameterization of ring types and sizes, as well as allows for the rings to be randomly missing or unpainted via mask if needed
